Urban Healing Scholarship

Urban Healing Company Ltd. announced the creation of a Scholarship for Wellness Leadership Development, an initiative to encourage nationals from the Asia Pacific region to pursue careers in spa and wellness leadership. It recognizes and supports talented individuals working in the Spa Industry in this region who wish to focus on the creation of genuine wellness for themselves, their teams, their clients and their organisations while successfully achieving their business objectives and delivering results. To support these individuals with additional educational opportunities, Urban Healing will award successful applicants a total of THB 300,000 (approx. US$ 9,000) towards tuition for any workshop offered as part of the SpaLEAD™ Wellness Leadership Development programme. |

Dieter Buchner, Founder and Managing Partner of Urban Healing Company, explains: "We believe the Urban Healing Scholarship will support those who recognise that genuine wellness leadership will be an essential part of the spa industry of the future. We want to inspire people within the industry to lead lifestyles that promote self-responsibility for one’s own health and who in turn help others to make wellness an achievable choice in their lives. The spa and wellness community is in an ideal position to bring about these positive changes while offering fulfilling careers and healthy income opportunities.” Open to nationals of countries forming the Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Council (APSWC), applicants are invited to apply between 7 February through 4 March 2008.

Open to nationals from APSWC membership states, applicants must have a university degree and at least 2 years experience of working in the spa industry and will also be asked to demonstrate the need for financial support. Submissions will be accepted online beginning February 6, 2008 through March 4, 2008 (11:59pm Thailand Time) and applicants must apply directly online. Additionally, applicants meeting the outlined criteria must respond to the following questions in no more than 1000 words for the combined responses:
